WTF! Confession: I Have Slept With Over Ten Dogs and Never Had Intercourse With a Man

My name is Ini-Obong. I am from Akwa-Ibom state, Nigeria but I reside in Malaysia. Only last year, I returned to Nigeria on completion of my studies. For a lot of reasons, I may want to hide some other details for fear of been humiliated by my folks. On this fateful day, specifically January 12th, I asked my father for one of the dogs to live in my room. He granted my wish as a birthday present to me. This was where my ordeal started. I would bath with the dog, eat with it and all. On this particular day, I played with the dog and I got tickled and turned on. In the process, one thing led to another and I had an ‘i

7 things parents should stop saying to their kids

Here are a few words parents shouldn't direct at their children: 1. I'll rather remain childless than have a child like you: This is an example of an emotional outburst in its extreme. It's not only hurtful but disgraceful and means you have no self control as a parent. 2. Why can't you think properly for once: They are called children for a reason. Kids aren't really capable of making good decisions and need a little push or shove towards the right direction. Children learn everyday and this includes making mistakes. 3. 'I used to be more responsible when I was your age': Comparing your children and telling them what you were capable of doing at their age would make them lose respect for you. You don't have to rub their shortcomings in their faces and destroy their self- confidence. 4. 'Why can't you be more like your elder/younger sibling': This is an unreasonable comparison. You are bound to create a rift between your ch

Fayose had at the opening ceremony of the Nigeria Legal Year organised by the Ekiti State Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association in Ado Ekiti reportedly accused judges of corruption. According to him, some of them were in the habit of begging to be appointed as election tribunals’ chairmen in order to extort money from politicians. Reacting to Fayose’s statement, APC said the governor’s attack represented “a paradoxical assault by a man who holds the judiciary in contempt even though he is also the greatest beneficiary of the same purportedly corrupt judiciary in his political career.” The Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said in a statement on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti that it was an irony that Fayose, “who is a beneficiary of lawless and anti-democratic conduct and a principal participant in the ignoble plot to spit on the Nigerian

Rethinking Nigeria’s well being

FIVE months into his tenure, President Muhammadu Buhari has no more time to waste before fixing the economy. Thus the government must recognise the urgency of articulating a blueprint and setting the machinery in motion to put the economy on the path of recovery. Rescuing the nation from the brink of economic recession demands the implementation of new economic models as the existing models would seem to have failed to generate lasting development for the country. Fortunately, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who has responsibility for the economy as Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC) is well aware of the nation’s challenges and the need to fix things quickly. At the 21st Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Osinbajo rightly acknowledged that the implementation of strategies that would pave the way for the recovery of the economy would involve tough choices.  However, such tough choices must not involve what has not worked for the country. The government must avoid e
